Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Location: Portland, OR 97213 Start Date: August 10, 2026 Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift | 5x8 Hours | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Hours: 40 Hours/Week Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Portland, OR. This is a night shift opportunity with a block schedule that includes weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and robotics. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. Prepare and organize instrument trays and case carts for surgical procedures. Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and high-level disinfection equipment. Monitor sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization records and equipment processing. Process specialty instrumentation, including orthopedic, laparoscopic, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, and robotic surgical instruments. Handle flexible endoscope reprocessing, including cystoscopes, ureteroscopes, and fiber optics. Follow infection prevention standards and hospital policies to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain efficient operating room workflow. Requirements Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience. CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification required. Experience with Epic charting preferred. Robotics processing experience strongly preferred. Trauma Level I experience preferred. Experience with acute care hospital operating rooms.
