Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Front Office Clinic Assistant (Float) to support our health centers across the Portland Metro area. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll support patients and clinic teams across multiple health centers, helping ensure every visit begins with a positive experience.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Welcome patients, check them in, and prepare visit paperwork
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient questions
  • Enter and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Verify insurance coverage and discuss payment or funding options
  • Collect payments and complete daily balancing tasks
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to keep appointments running smoothly
  • Adapt quickly to different clinic teams, workflows, and patient populations

You'll play an important role in ensuring patients receive consistent, high-quality service while supporting multiple clinics throughout the Portland Metro area.

Schedule & Location

This is a part-time position (30 hours/week) supporting multiple PPCW health centers throughout the Portland Metro area.

Standard Schedule
  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Friday
  • Saturday

Daily hours and clinic assignments may vary based on operational needs.

Requirements
  • Must reside within the Portland Metro area
  • Must be able to travel to all PPCW health centers as scheduled
  • Must have reliable transportation and active auto insurance

Occasional additional days, evenings, weekends, or alternate work locations may be required to support operational needs.

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and comfort learning new systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments and workflows
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a variety of teams
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a medical office or front desk setting
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR)
  • Familiarity with insurance verification or healthcare scheduling
  • Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in multiple clinical settings
Pay & Growth

$20.37–$29.68/hour + $2.00/hour Float premium

Pay is based on experience and internal equity, with opportunities to grow over time.

Additional Pay Opportunities
  • Float premium: +$2.00/hour
  • After two years as a Float employee, the Float premium increases to +$3.00/hour
  • Bilingual premium: +$1.72/hour

Float employees may also be eligible for mileage reimbursement and paid travel time when commuting to a worksite more than 30 miles from their base location.
