Description: The Patient Care Technician will assist in providing personal care to geriatric participants/residents. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming with minimal support and supervision. The technician will schedule and coordinate tasks to be performed by other staff members. Participation in patient orientation to the facility is expected. Input and information for service and care plans will be provided by the technician. Experience with QuickMAR is preferred but not required. The technician will be expected to float between various units if necessary. Weekend work is required, with all weekend shifts included in the schedule. The position requires knowledge of assisting with ambulation, feeding patients, and performing routine vital sign checks. This role may also involve collection of urine and stool specimens and supporting patients with incontinence care. The work involves following proper procedures for infection control and use of personal protective equipment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role. The daily census for the unit is approximately 70 patients. The facility is a long-term care and assisted living environment. Dressing changes, clerical duties, and cleaning of equipment are part of the daily responsibilities.
