The Department of Oral Rehabilitation & Biosciences is seeking a Research Assistant 2 with Bachelor's Degree (4 yr) with major courses in field of research OR Associate's (2 yr) and 3 years of relevant experience to begin immediately. The candidate will perform research in-line with the goals of the principal investigator, Stephanie Momeni, Ph.D, MBA, PMP. The research group is dynamic, vibrant, funded by the NIH/NIDCR, and leverages microbiology and bioinformatics to discover how the bacteria living in the human oral cavity impact health and disease. The position will provide the opportunity to conduct and present research, publish papers, build a scientific network, and collaborate with other research groups.
The successful candidate will have experience in microbiology, molecular biology and/or bioinformatics. It is expected that the appointed candidate will (1) work independently, (2) play an active role seeking career and research advice, (3) perform the research required by the supervisor to a high standard, in accordance with institutional and federal regulations and ethical standards, and (4) work in a collegial and cooperative manner with the supervisor and other co-workers.
