DescriptionThe Clinical Research Budgeting Analyst will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of budgets for sponsored clinical trials, including the comparative review against budgets offered by study sponsors and the set‑up of study payment milestones in the Clinical Trial Management System. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the review of New Study routing forms and essential study start‑up documents; the itemized cost analysis and interpretation of clinical protocols into budget milestones; providing accurate patient cost descriptions for the ICF to be submitted to the IRB; and updating budget, milestones, and ICF information as necessary per contract or protocol amendments. The analyst works closely with contract analysts, the regulatory team, program managers, and internal finance groups, and manages a large volume workflow across multiple research programs, each of which operates differently.Responsibility also includes the development of study budgets from clinical study protocols using various software tools. The analyst completes a full evaluation and integration of internal costs during the set‑up of a new clinical study, revises study budgets following protocol revisions or re‑assessment of study costs, and utilizes and oversees research rate pricing for PH&S services rendered as part of a clinical trial.ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with Contracts Analysts to integrate study budget information into clinical trial agreements; may initiate or participate in contract negotiation.Independently initiate or update the coverage determination for each study and communicate specific study billing structure to clinical teams and service providers.Participate in the administration of study‑subject related billing and provide support for auditing of billing records.Collect and maintain complete records and statistics on expenses and payments; regularly monitor compliance of clinical expenses with pre‑determined budget/billing plans and agreements.Establish and promote positive working relationships within research departments, throughout the hospital, and between other institutions involved in clinical research.Set up study payment milestones and Billing Instruction grids using Microsoft Excel or the Clinical Trial Management System (Velos).Provide support to individual physician investigators and develop internal cost analysis for investigator‑initiated trials.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree —or—4 additional years of related experience6 years of direct experience in budget development, preferably in a clinical trial or medical settingPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration4 years of research grants administration experienceWhy Join Providence Swedish?Our best‑in‑class benefits are uniquely designed to support you and your family in staying well, growing professionally, and achieving financial security.
