Supervisor: ASC Administrative Manager

Hours per week: 40hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm)

Department: Day Surgery

Hiring Bonus: $1,000 after 90 days

Schedules all procedures utilizing requests from surgeons, and/or their office personnel, according to established clinic policies. Performs a variety of clerical and record-keeping tasks related to The Portland Clinic's patient scheduling and pre-operative testing.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accurately schedule requested procedures, using specific policies and procedures.
  • Assist with preparing paper charts for patients as needed.
  • Make accurate and timely adjustments to the surgery schedule, including additions, cancellations, and other changes. Communicate these changes appropriately to charge nurses if necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and prioritize work to meet the needs of the surgery center.
  • Answer telephone using proper telephone courtesy, taking and delivering messages in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide back up for receptionist during breaks and meal periods.
  • Check in and register patients as needed.
  • Assist visitors, staff and physicians utilizing good guest relations.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties, as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Uses appropriate use of PPE for patient care and other settings where required.
  • Be an active participant in committees (i.e. Safety Committee, Infection Control).
  • Participate in orienting new staff.
  • Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.
  • Understand hazard risk and demonstrate complete understating of established emergency procedures for the Surgery Center.
  • Reports incidences or issues through chain of command and maintains confidentiality. Complete all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Assist/floats to other departments as needed.
  • Follows rights of medication administration, appropriately signs out medications.
  • Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business.
  • Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, patients and vendors.
  • Abide by company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Current CPR Certification
