Who You Are: You are a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong accounts payable experience and a solid understanding of accounting principles. You take ownership of your work from initiation through completion, proactively identifying and resolving issues while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and strong intgernal controls. You communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders, partner closely with the Finance team, and look for opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency. Other than processing accounts payable transactions, you also prepare reconciliations and journal entries, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end close activities. You'll be responsible for: Managing the full-cycle accounts payable process working within established accounting procedures and internal controls, while identifying opportunities for improvement Reviewing, coding and entering vendor invoices in Quickbooks with departmental allocation calculations as handled in MS Excel Tracking and driving invoice approvals through Smartsheets Ensuring all payments are completed accurately and on time Communicating with vendors and People Leaders to resolve invoice issues and inquiries Maintaining well-organized records of invoices, approvals, and payments physically and digitally Tracking payment due dates and prioritizing urgent items Processing monthly corporate credit card activity via Concur, including receipt review, coding, approvals, and posting transactions in QuickBooks Managing the team member reimbursement process beginning-to-end, including review, entry into QuickBooks, and payment processing Identifying process inefficiencies, recommending solutions, and implementing approved improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Developing, documenting, and maintaining accounts payable procedures and workflows to support consistency and cross-functional collaboration. Serving as a resource to internal stakeholders on accounts payable processes, requirements, and best practices. To be successful in this role, you'll have**: 4+ years of accounts payable experience (full-cycle strongly preferred) Proficiency with QuickBooks Experience with Smartsheets or similar approval workflow tools Strong Excel skills (filtering, sorting, basic formulas) Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and drive work to completion with minimal oversight. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when resolving discrepancies and process issues. A continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying, recommending, and implementing process enhancements. Experience creating, documenting, and improving procedures and workflows. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across departments. **Any combination of formal education, paid work experience, unpaid/volunteer experience, and life experience will be considered. To be considered above and beyond the average candidate in this role, you'll also: Experience managing structured approval workflows (e.g., Smartsheet, Bill.com) Process improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously Your work environment and activities: Your workday will be located in a human-paced, team-oriented, business-casual style office setting. Depending on the position's responsibilities, you may be eligible for remote/hybrid work based on performance, and access to essential work-related resources. While in the office, you will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. An office-based role means that your day will be mostly sedentary, with some time spent moving files, open filing cabinets, bending, and/or standing on a stool as necessary. Occasionally you will travel between other Habitat locations or temporary worksites. Your Work Schedule: 20-29-hour work week, generally Monday - Friday between 8:30am-4:30pm Your Compensation: We aim to offer competitive pay and benefits and are committed to equity and transparency in compensation. Successful candidates are typically hired within the first half of the Pay Range and receive scheduled incremental increases. When starting in this position, your compensation will generally be between $21.37 to $26.17 per hour, not exceed the range midpoint. The full range for this position is $21.37 to $30.98 per hour.
