The Deputy Dispatch Responder responds to requests from staff and programs needing immediate and future assistance in filling shifts that are vacant from unexpected absences, vacations or vacant positions. This position requires that carrying and answering the dispatch phone and filling shifts during the entire shift. This position also offers support to CC Staffing Trainees if they have any questions while working in a given building.
The successful Deputy Dispatch Responder is highly organized, dependable, and able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. They excel at multitasking, communicating clearly, and maintaining accurate records while coordinating staffing coverage across multiple programs. This individual is comfortable making time-sensitive decisions, following established policies and union contract requirements, and providing excellent customer service to employees, supervisors, and program staff. They are detail-oriented, proficient with technology, and capable of balancing independent work with collaboration to ensure critical shifts are filled and programs remain fully supported.
Program: Central City Staffing (CC Staffing), one of CCC's Social Enterprise programs, is a job training program that provides 24/7 on-call coverage to 47+ CCC housing buildings, administrative offices, and clinics. Trainees gain hands-on experience in front desk operations, emergency procedures, and routine building maintenance while helping foster a safe and supportive community. Each year, more than 200 individuals with lived experience of homelessness are expected to complete the program building skills for long-term employment.

Schedule: Night Shift - Saturday - Wednesday, 11:00pm - 7:30am (Thursday and Friday off)
Location: Everette Building - 121 NW Everett St, Portland, OR 97209
Compensation: $22.05 - $29.25/hr Final comp will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity. External candidates: Offer max $25.58/hr per our Union contract.
Graveyard Shift Differential: Employees earn an additional $1.75 per hour for hours worked between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. To qualify, the majority of the scheduled shift must fall within these overnight hours. The differential applies only to time worked during the eligible graveyard shift period. Not paid time off.
