JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Machine Operator

Scope: To safely assist the Journeyman Machinists while learning the trade

Duties and responsibilities:

With safety and quality in mind operate machinery after Journeyman setup

Understand blueprints and drawings to perform the assigned production operation

Inspect product dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers and similar precision measuring tools.

With guidance and supervision, make minor adjustments on machines to ensure parts remain within tolerances

Safely perform duties with supervision and follow written and verbal work instructions and/or specification sheets

Keep machine or machines running in a continuous cycle by loading individual parts or bar stock

Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently and stand for 10 hours a day

Perform all other duties as assigned, such as secondary operations and keeping the work area clean

Qualifications/Expectations

Able to accurately read and use precision measuring instruments i.e. micrometers, calipers and various indicators as well as basic blue prints. The position requires the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.

Good attendance is a must
