Description:

Shipping ClerkThe Shipping Clerk coordinates all shipping, packaging, and receiving of components, supplies, and materials in accordance with company and customer specifications. This role ensures accurate processing of outbound and inbound freight using an MRP system, maintains required documentation and records, and supports inventory and receiving activities to keep materials flowing smoothly through the organization.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate all shipping, packaging, and receiving activities for components, supplies, and materials in line with company and customer specifications.Process all outbound shipments using the MRP system, ensuring all information is accurate and meets company and customer requirements.Operate the MRP system to verify order details and input correct information as required throughout the shipping process.Perform shipping and packaging responsibilities for outbound and inbound freight, including packaging products, preparing documentation, contacting carriers, and handling international shipments.Maintain records and documentation as required by industry standards and company practices.Perform driving responsibilities to deliver or pick up merchandise in accordance with company requirements.Cross-train in all essential requirements of the Inventory and Receiving group to provide coverage and support as needed.Assist the Inventory and Receiving group throughout the designated shift whenever primary shipping duties are completed.Interface professionally with the Accounting department and other internal teams as needed to support shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.Demonstrate a strong commitment to the company mission and actively contribute to achieving shared insurance.Proficiency in accurately operating a computer-based MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system.Knowledge and hands-on proficiency with shipping and packaging processes and requirements, including domestic and international shipments.Experience with shipping and receiving operations, including handling documentation, carrier coordination, and freight preparation.Ability to perform cycle counts and support warehouse inventory control activities.Competence in material handling within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.Attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, documentation, and records.Ability to read and understand shipment schedules and related documentation.Capability to cross-train in other departments as required and adapt to changing work demands.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.Professional communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively with Accounting and other internal departments.Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift and to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a warehouse or cleanroom environment, particularly in a high-tech or semiconductor-related setting.Familiarity with inventory management practices, including cycle counts and warehouse inventory control.Comfort operating forklifts or other material handling equipment, where appropriately trained and authorized.Understanding of International Standards Organization (ISO) certified environments and related documentation practices.Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze information and identify strengths and weaknesses in processes.Demonstrated interest in ongoing learning and professional development, including seeking feedback and adjusting based on self-analysis.Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional Hearing protection is recommended in the vicinity of machinery, and compliance with all company safety practices and procedures is required. The position involves standing and walking for the majority of the shift and regularly lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. Team members maintain a professional image in accordance with company appearance standards while working in a structured, well-organized environment that uses MRP systems and established shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
