General Production Worker

This role supports a modern, highly automated manufacturing shop by performing a variety of hands-on production tasks across multiple departments. You will use basic hand and power tools, follow written job orders, and assist with machine operation, qualityinspection, hand finishing, and shipping/receiving. The position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical inclination, such as experience or hobbies working on cars or motorcycles, who is eager to be cross-trained and learn the full CNC manufacturing process in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple departments on the shop floor, including machine operation, quality control, hand finishing, and shipping/receiving.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete production tasks.
• Follow detailed written job orders and work instructions, including reading and interpreting basic information required for production.
• Perform basic math as needed to complete measurements, counts, and production-related calculations.
• Assist with machine operation by following detailed work instructions and using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Support quality control and inspection activities by following instructions and operating inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Contribute to metrology and inspection tasks, with print reading considered a plus.
• Perform hand finishing and deburring operations by using hand tools to remove material from metal parts and polish components as required.
• Follow work instructions to receive incoming materials, package finished products, and prepare items for shipment in the shipping/receiving area.
• Work independently on the shop floor, proactively identifying and taking on available work without constant supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, equipment, and parts with care.
• Adhere to ITAR compliance requirements and all applicable shop safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members and align with a hands-on, driven culture focused on continuous learning and improvement.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical inclination, with on-the-job experience or hobbies such as working on cars, motorcycles, or similar mechanical projects.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness and ability to be cross-trained in all aspects of the shop and support multiple departments.
• Ability to follow written job orders and detailed work instructions accurately.
• Capability to perform basic math for measurements, counts, and production tasks.
• ITAR compliant and able to meet all related requirements.
• Ability to work independently on the shop floor and proactively seek out work.
• Comfort working in a hands-on production environment with machines, tools, and metal parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Exposure to quality control, metrology, or inspection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret prints or basic technical drawings (a plus).
• Experience with deburring, hand finishing, and polishing of metal parts.
• Interest in learning the entire CNC manufacturing process.
• Strong desire to learn new skills and grow within a production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean and modern machine shop that features highly automated CNC operations supported by newly integrated robotic systems. The facility has distinct areas for CNC machining, quality control, and shipping/receiving, providing a well-organized and efficient workflow. The training shift runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and candidates must be open to transitioning to a swing shift schedule of Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The environment emphasizes safe use of hand tools, inspection equipment, and production machinery, and supports a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to manufacturing work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
