This position involves strategic planning and coordination to ensure that all dock activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with aviation regulations. You will lead a team of supervisors and dock agents, providing direction, training, and performance management to maintain high operational standards. Additionally, you are responsible for liaising with other airport departments, airlines, and external partners to optimize dock operations, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure a seamless flow of operations at the airport docks.RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the entire dock operations, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of cargo and baggageManage and mentor a team of dock supervisors and agents, fostering a culture of safety and efficiencyDevelop and implement operational strategies to optimize dock workflow and resource utilizationCollaborate with airline representatives and ground handlers to coordinate operational activitiesEnsure compliance with all safety and security regulations in dock operationsMonitor the condition and usage of ground support equipment, ensuring proper maintenanceAnalyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement in dock processesHandle scheduling of staff and equipment to meet the demands of flight schedulesResolve complex operational issues and handle escalations from the dock teamConduct regular training sessions for dock staff on safety, handling procedures, and customer serviceImplement and oversee quality control measures for cargo and baggage handlingParticipate in airport-wide emergency planning and response activitiesPrepare and manage the budget for dock operations, including staffing and equipment expensesMaintain open and effective communication with all levels of airport and company managementLead initiatives for continuous improvement in dock operations and team performanceStrong understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EmailPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.Must hold a valid driver's license.1 year experience as a Dock Supervisor2 years dock experienceKnowledge of the Aviation IndustryCommunicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
