Job Description

This Production Operator role is set in a dynamic production environment, focusing on epitaxial growth and metrology processes for silicon wafers. The position operates within a cleanroom environment, requiring the use of comprehensive personal protective equipment (PPE). The work involves following detailed procedures and documentation to meet daily targets without defects, ensuring wafers are processed according to customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow complex and detailed procedures to complete documentation per specifications.
  • Ensure wafers are processed according to specific customer requirements.
  • Cross-train to become certified in multiple process areas within the department.
  • Work around hazardous and volatile chemicals.
  • Stand and walk for long periods during a 12-hour shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, and transport items weighing up to 30 pounds multiple times during a shift.
  • Exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally to move, lift, push, or pull objects.
  • Perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers, and grasp objects.
  • Kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, reach, and crawl as necessary for certain tasks.
  • Operate a cart to transport materials and equipment weighing up to 400 lbs.
  • Review work orders and load materials onto appropriate tool sets.
  • Use a computer keyboard to input data, track, and confirm material for each process step.
  • Complete computerized forms and labels for tools, and request delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Perform daily calibrations for each process tool and verify calibration data.
  • Monitor, analyze, and verify data and processes meet quality specifications.
  • Operate robotic equipment to lift, unload, and transport materials.
  • Compute percentages, per unit costs, and decimals using a calculator or computer software.
  • Prepare, analyze, and create data through extensive reading and visual inspection.
  • Prioritize safety and report any unsafe conditions or situations.
  • Act as a role model in safety and report all job accidents and injuries.
  • Follow documented training, procedures, and processes to meet quality standards.
  • Report and correct quality issues, ensuring they are not repeated.
  • Identify and report suggestions for improvement to supervisors.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in computer use and software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to operate a calculator, copier, fax, scanner, cell phone, and telephone.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to create, read, comprehend, and explain instructions, procedures, and technical manuals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and leadership qualities.
  • Previous EPI experience is a plus but entry-level candidates with a positive attitude are welcome.

Work Environment

Work in a highly automated cleanroom environment requiring full PPE including a hooded cleanroom suit with a hairnet, safety glasses, face mask, and latex gloves. The cleanroom is air-conditioned and well-ventilated, although the gown may cause some discomfort due to heat. The position follows a 12-hour night shift schedule with a compressed workweek that alternates between 3-ON/4-OFF and 4-ON/3-OFF. Night shifts offer an additional shift differential pay incentive.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
