Back Office Clinic Assistant

Description:

As a Back Office Clinic Assistant, you'll support patients before, during, and after their visits while working closely with clinicians and the rest of the health center team.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Welcome patients and prepare them for their visit
  • Take patienthistories, vital signs, and other clinical information
  • Perform blood draws, injections, and laboratory testing within your training and scope
  • Assist clinicians with procedures and patient care
  • Provide patient education and instructions
  • Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies
  • Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the health center
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards
  • Provide compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds

Schedule & Location

This is a part-time position (30 hours/week) at our Beaverton Health Center in Beaverton, Oregon.

Candidates must be able to reliably work this schedule.

Employees may be requested or required to occasionally work other days (including weekends), hours, and locations to meet operational needs.

No language requirement.

  • Monday: 11:30am–7:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am–4:00pm
  • Wednesday: 10:30am–6:30pm
  • Saturday: 7:30am–3:30pm

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced health care environment
  • Comfort working directly with patients and providing hands‑on clinical support
  • Ability to learn clinical procedures, workflows, and electronic health record systems
  • Commitment to providing inclusive, patient-centered care to people from diverse backgrounds and communities

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in a health care or clinical setting
  • Medical Assistant or similar clinical training or experience
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills

Pay & Growth

$20.37–$29.68/hour

Pay is based on experience and internal equity. Most new hires start toward the lower end of the range, with room to grow.

Additional pay opportunities:

  • Bilingual premium: +$1.72/hour
  • Interpreter-level premium: +$3.44/hour
  • Additional duty premiums may be available for eligible assignments
