Trash Sorter- Immediate Start Available!

Shift: 1st Shift (Starting at 6:00 AM) | 40 hours per week. This is a long term assignment.

Compensation: $20.00/hr

Job Summary: In this role, you will play a crucial part in our recycling and waste recovery efforts by ensuring materials are properly sorted on our conveyor lines. This is a fast-paced, outdoor/semi-outdoor physical role perfect for someone who enjoys staying active and working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Sorting: Inspect, categorize, and sort materials (by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade) into designated piles or containers on a moving conveyor line.
• Contaminant Removal: Identify and safely remove contaminants from paper streams or the surrounding floor.
• Line Maintenance: Feed materials (such as wastepaper) onto the conveyor, clean up the sorting line, and keep your surrounding work area tidy.
• Material Handling: Stack boxes/skids and safely dump boxes or totes of material when required.
• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor machine start-ups via the control screen to ensure the line is operating safely and at the correct speed.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), immediately report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 months of related experience or training (e.g., manufacturing, warehouse, manual labor, or distribution).
• Skills: Strong hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and the ability to maintain focus in a repetitive environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Active Work: Daily physical effort handling and lifting objects up to 30 lbs.

Environment: This job is located at an outdoor/semi-outdoor landfill and waste recovery site. You will be exposed to dirt, odors, loud noise, and seasonal weather extremes.

Safety First: Occupational risks (such as cuts or chemical exposure) are rare due to strict adherence to safety gear and procedures.
