Looking for a Good Mechanic and a Good Team Member?

Landmark Equipment is looking for a dependable, experienced mechanic to join our service team.

We've been in business since 1984, serving customers throughout the Portland and Southwest Washington area. We're a locally owned company that believes in doing quality work, treating people fairly, and taking care of our customers.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in solving mechanical problems, and wants a steady, long-term position with a company that appreciates a good work ethic.

If you're a skilled mechanic who shows up on time, works well with others, and takes pride in a job done right, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Be Working On

At Landmark Equipment, no two days are exactly alike. We service and repair a wide variety of industrial and construction equipment, including:

• Forklifts – propane, gas, diesel, and electric
• Boom lifts and scissor lifts
• Telehandlers and rough-terrain forklifts
• Electric pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
• Other industrial and material-handling equipment

Our work includes troubleshooting and repairing engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and other mechanical components.

Most repairs are performed at our Portland shop.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a mechanic who brings both mechanical ability and a professional attitude to work.

The right person will have:

• Previous experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, engine, and drivetrain repairs
• The ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics
• The ability to work independently and make sound repair decisions
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with coworkers and customers
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• A willingness to learn and work on equipment that may be unfamiliar
• A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and keeping an organized work area
• A valid Oregon or Washington driver's license with a good driving record
• Personal hand tools for common mechanical repairs

Forklift experience is preferred, but we're also interested in experienced automotive, diesel, agricultural, and heavy equipment mechanics with strong troubleshooting skills.

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals and schematics
• Complete accurate work orders documenting repairs and recommendations
• Communicate repair findings and needed repairs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work with our service team to keep repairs moving efficiently
• Take responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned work

What We Offer

• Steady, full-time employment – 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday schedule – weekends off
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) retirement plan with company matching opportunities
• Paid holidays
• Paid time off
• Overtime opportunities
• Variety of equipment and challenging mechanical work
• An established, locally owned company with over 40 years in business
• A straightforward, team-oriented work environment

The Kind of Person Who Fits In Here

We take our work seriously, but we also believe work should be enjoyable.

We're a small team, so reliability, communication, and mutual respect are important. We appreciate people who take initiative, help each other when needed, and can work through challenges without unnecessary drama.

We don't expect anyone to know everything. We do expect honesty, accountability, a willingness to learn, and pride in your workmanship.

If you're looking for a stable position where your mechanical skills and work ethic matter, Landmark Equipment may be a great fit.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including climbing, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment background screening and drug testing
